Post by ldl511 on Wed Jun 24, 2009 4:34 pm

Any easy way to clean your bathroom drains is to put about 3 tblsp of hydrogen peroxide down the drain twice a day for a week and Wah lah clean flowing drain.

This won't actually open up an already clogged drain, but it will help keep a drain clear.

It cleared my drain in the bathroom. It worked in the shower also. I don't think it will work in the kitchen though.

Especially if you use it every day. I use it to clean my dentures with, so every single day I have some going down my drain in the bathroom. So this is really a good "preventative" drain cleaner.

I get a lot of hair in my shower drain, I mean A LOT!! I make my husband clean it out (Im so bad) we call it "The Poodle" because after a month, the hair in the drain is the size of a small poodle. lol. I do love saying "Honey, its time to take The Poodle out"
Does anyone know if this works on shower drains and hair clogs?

I don't think it would. Because it doesn't actually "eat through" a clog, not something like hair anyway. I mean you can put peroxide on your hair and its not going to eat it up, its just going to change the color. So it might change the color of your "poodle". But that's about it.

By the way, Patty, do you guys have curly hair?? I was just wondering becasue poodles do. I have very long straight brown hair, so when I clean my shower drain...ewww, yuck, nothing as nice as a poodle, more like a brown snake!!!

No, we dont, we are both blondes with straight hair. Just at the time, it was the only small hairy thing I could think of.

It works great on eating at the crud that goes down the drain like toothpaste and soap.
