Febreze in the air filter

I was cleaning out the air filter on my air conditioner and a light bulb went off in my head....if I spray the heck out of the freshly cleaned air filter then it gets the room smelling fresh in an instant!!

idea! for any reason that wouldnt be a fire hazard would it?

no, i am not soaking it sopping, I am just getting it damp, just about the same as when I first clean it and put the filter back on.

One thing I might mention is that my A/C has a filter that is meant to be washed in the sink or dishwasher. So it isn't going to ruin it to get it wet. The only thing that I can see that MAY be a downside to it is that if I am getting it wet with the Febreze then the dust that the filter is filtering is REALLY going to stick to it, so next time I clean it it is going to be harder to get clean.
