Make the most of your apples!

I just found this in Woman's World and thought it was very !

If you have bruised or soft apples, don't throw them away! Make applesauce.

peel, core and slice the apples and toss into your crockpot. Smash lightly with a potato masher, add cinnamon and cook on low for two hours. voila'- your fruit becomes applesauce!!!!

my new years tradition is to have pork & sauerkraut with homemade applesauce. it comes from the german side of my family. i add a few red hot candies and it flavors it with cinnamon and makes it a light red color. very yummy!
